FAQs

Understanding and being able to apply infection prevention and control practices is important for anyone who works in a medical, dental, long-term care or other health care setting. This includes front desk employees, medical receptionists and custodial staff, as well as physicians, dentists, nurses, dental hygienists and other health care professionals. PFL training resources are also designed for workplace trainers and managers who are responsible for keeping staff up to date on their infection prevention and control training and for educators who work with health care students.

These resources are meant to help health care workers of all kinds whenever the learning opportunity arises. That could be during a shift, as an infection control issue presents itself. Or it could be at a shift change, as you update your team on an issue you faced and take a moment to review with them a factsheet, video or micro-learn on the topic. Workplace trainers and managers, as well as health care educators, may choose to set up a weekly or monthly schedule for reviewing this information with staff or students.
